Brooke White, OTR/L, Executive Director

Our Directors

Brooke White has been part of the Child’s Play team since 2011 as an Occupational Therapist. She served as Clinical Supervisor before transitioning to the position of Executive Director for the HuntsvilleBirmingham and Chelsea locations. This role is by far her favorite as she is able to lead a gifted team of therapists and clinicians.

Prior to her work with Child’s Play Therapy Center, Brooke graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1991 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She began her career in adult rehabilitation and transitioned to pediatrics in 2000.

Brooke’s experience includes treating children with a sensory processing disorder, autism, and feeding challenges. Her previous work in Tennessee within a public school system and later in an inclusive preschool has shaped her clinical skills and fostered a passion for autism and sensory processing disorders. Brooke has additional training in sensory processing, Wilbarger Protocol, Interactive Metronome, Integrative Listening Systems, Handwriting Without Tears, and the Sequential Oral Sensory feeding program.

Brooke has volunteered at The Red Barn combining both of her interests: children and horses. As a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Alabama Occupational Therapy Association Brooke has had the opportunity to present at the ALOTA conference on two occasions. In 2017 she was a C3 award recipient voted upon by her CPTC peers as exemplifying the company motto Caring for Children, Caring for Families, and Caring for Each Other. “I am both humbled and honored to work with Child’s Play as part of the Cicero Therapies team. The clinical and professional support provided is second to none.” When not working Brooke enjoys spending time with her family and animals. Her hobbies include sewing, reading, and horseback riding.
